Maltese Photographer's success in European Health & Safety Photographic Competitions

A photograph by Christopher Azzopardi of the Malta Photographic Society recently came first in the European Safety Federation’s photographic competition. Chris’s image entitled “Sparks” depicts the importance of using protective goggles to protect eyes from flying sparks during grinding operations. The award ceremony was held in Dusseldorf, Germany on the 6th of November 2009.
Chris took part in another photographic competition, this time organised by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work. The aim of this competition was to promote awareness on occupational safety and health. For this competition, Chris submitted two photographs and his image, entitled “Bee Keeper” was chosen as the winning image out of 1,700 photographs which were submitted. The “Bee Keeper”, depicts the importance that bee keepers must wearing appropriate protective gear in an Apiary. The award ceremony was held in Bilbao, Spain on the 17th of November 2009.
